HOW TO IMPROVISE WORKSHOP! You will learn 3 basic moves that you can use to improvise any flamenco letra. Then you'll learn variations on those moves and how to use them spontaneously. We work in basic 12 count rhythms of Alegrias, Solea por Buleria and Guajira.

  • Video 1- Compás   (time, 8:40) All Levels. This video will set you up for learning how to improvise by going over the MOST IMPORTANT aspect of flamenco: COMPAS!
  • Video 2- Basic Markings   (time, 15:27) All Levels. In this video, you'll learn the THREE BASIC MARKINGS that you can use in ALL of the flamenco 12 count rhythms. Seriously!
  • Video 3- Variations   (time, 16:46), Advanced Beginner & Up. You'll be able to improvise with accents and arms after this video- as long as you have the first three markings solid.
  • Video 4- All Together   (time, 17:38), Intermediate & Advanced. Now let's put it all together and practice, practice, practice!

Music:

TIP: Take one video at a time and be sure to practice on your own using the music that we use in the videos. Then when you feel confidant, try using other recordings of your favorite music.
