PICADO FOOTWORK TECHNIQUE

Usually footwork techniques in Flamenco don't have actual "names," but this one does! Picado literally means "chopped" so I guess you can think of chopping some veggies with your footwork. The first video introduces the pattern to new beginners and follows with a practice session. Remember, start slow and gain that muscle memory before moving on to the variations. The following videos introduce variations in the compás as well as increasing the tempo. Advanced students try playing palmas for yourself!
