Core Program Block Two
MODULE 4
PLANTA ROLL FOOTWORK TECHNIQUE
This style of footwork is very common in the regular escobilla (footwork section) of an Alegrias solo. However, this technique can be used in any palo. The goal here is to get that planta and tacón strong and clear for a clean technique. If you muddle through the footwork, you'll get out of compás!
- LEVEL 1 Beg/Int: Follow the entire class and keep your hands on your hips. If the tempo is too fast, then focus on the slower tempo until you get stronger.
- LEVEL 2 Int/Adv: Intermediates should work on finessing the sound of the footwork while adding arms. Advanced should work on all that PLUS try playing palmas for yourself while doing the footwork!
